New Research— Enhancing Disturbance Data in Northeast B.C.
BC OGRIS is providing a grant to the Ministry of Water, Land, and Resource Stewardship (WLRS) to improve disturbance data in Northeast British Columbia. The project will adjust existing data to be reflective of on-the-ground conditions—by integrating LiDAR, high resolution imagery, manual digitization and field validation to better characterize disturbances and identify areas undergoing natural regeneration. The project is anticipated to be complete by May, 2027.
