Final Report--Groundwater Monitoring Wells--Summary of August, 2025 Resampling
The final report from the BC OGRIS supported project to re-sample two groundwater monitoring wells is now available in the Water section of the Completed Projects page. The re-sampling, completed in August 2025, was designed to confirm that the concentrations of dissolved methane noted in the 2024 sampling effort were representative or a result of sampling procedures. As background, a network of 29 groundwater monitoring wells was installed in 2018 and 2019 in the Peace Region of B.C. to characterize baseline groundwater chemistry, subsurface methane conditions, and groundwater levels, and to assess potential groundwater quality impacts associated with energy resource activity.
